What is a domain name?
A domain name identifies a computer on the Internet. Examples of domain names are www.soremedia com and www.google.com. As part of our service, we will register a domain name for you that will enable to have your own web address (eg http://www.soremedia.com).
What is web hosting?
Websites are held (hosted) on computers called web servers. After we design your website, we place it on a web server, enabling your pages to be accessible on the Internet.
Do I need to buy a domain name and get my site hosted?
No. We will do this for you. This is included as part of our website packages.
Will we have to have a meeting?
Generally no. In the design process communication can be carried out by telephone and e-mail.
What steps are involved in getting a website up and running?
After you make initial contact and outline your requirements, we will purchase the domain name that you would like. We will then draw up a design based on what you want. This will be refined in consultation with you. We will require content and images from you, which we may need to modify as part of out Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) process.
How long will it take before my website is ready?
After the initial design is agreed and we receive the content from you, the process can be completed very quickly - typically less than a week.
How do I get listed in Google and the other search engines?
We will manually submit your site details to Google and the other major search engines, and ensure that you pages can be indexed to appear in search results.
What aftersales support do you provide?
Any amendments or slight changes to the site are carried out free of charge for the first month.
After my site is up and running, are there any other costs?
The only other costs are the hosting of the site (free for the first year, €100 per year thereafter).
